Laundromat Marketing

Unless you’re a laundromat owner or know somebody who is, you can entirely ignore this post.

If you’re a laundromat owner, then it’s likely you’ve got some sort of budget for marketing your laundromat, and most of that marketing budget probably goes towards yellow pages and coupons in Money Mailer. That is, if you do any marketing at all other than the “laundromat” sign you have slapped up on the front of your building.

So I’m going to give you a marketing tip. It will take no more than five minutes of your time and cost you nothing, but it could bring a lot more traffic into your laundromat. And in fact, the sooner you do this, the better off you’ll be. What you need to do is create a listing for your laundromat at laundromatic.com, the world’s largest directory of laundromats.

It’s very easy to do, you can post all sorts of information about your laundromat, and because the site is brand new you don’t have to compete with anybody else. For example, if you own a laundromat in New York City and you create a profile there right now, you’re going to be the only laundromat listed in that section, at least for now until other laundromat owners start finding out about this site.

What benefit do I get out of this? Well, hopefully someday there will be 50 laundromats listed in each city, and some of you will be willing to pay $10/month to be shown at the top of the list. But until then, you can get a listing for free and be at the top for who knows how many months or years.
