Best piece of advice I've heard in years was find a customer for your idea before you build it. It tests your skills at selling it, and it tests the market.

It is good to know of your experience and take some pointers from the mistakes you have made.. I have been reading your blog since a long time along with following MWI.com. I found you on google searching for 'Harvard application' and its good to read you as always. As a student and a part time graphics designer I relate to you and your struggle and I see where I am headed..I reside in Sunny melbourne and life is tough out here too for Web companies/designers.

On the very verge of starting my business I am glad you shared with us what you feel you should have done..I hope in future when I am succesful I can look back and refer/read this post and feel absolutely delighted for advice worth a million that I got absolutely free.

Thanks Joshua.
Absolutely appreciate your blog post.

Josh you are a true master of yourself and destiny and have lived, experienced and survived things that would make most people pee in their pants. (sorry my mood right now) ;) But what I am saying is you have lived and risked, and are now conquering. You have gotten in the game when most people are too afraid to try something like this and only live life on the sidelines always too afraid to leave them. The majority lead sad lives of quite desperation. You area great example to me and this is very refreshing to hear as I am still trying to figure out the whole entrepreneur thing too. Thanks for sharing! But most of all thanks for living! Tell Brynn and Magdalena hi for us. We ought to get together for lunch and share stories so I, can learn from you, the vanguard!
