It’s easy to say I’m not going to vote for McCain until you read something like this. From the WSJ:“Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers,” he said, and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably.
I don’t know about you, but that’s one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard from a politician, other than radical extremists. Translation = “The Soviet Union had a better system of government than the United States, and I’m going to work towards making the US like the former USSR.” Heaven forbid he gets the chance to use his strong government hand to start redistributing wealth because it’s going to destroy businesses, the entrepreneurial spirit, jobs, and ultimately would lead to increased poverty. These people talk about there being too much wealth and power in the hands of too few, but refresh my memory, which country had a larger middle class in 1985, Russia or the US?
