I have yet to meet a teacher that is for it, and the reasons I hear them state as to why they are against it are ridiculous and full of a messaging strategy they got from somewhere else. I wonder where that somewhere else is at times because I doubt it all comes from the NEA. This leads me to believe that it's being tossed around within the walls of the schools themselves.

Glad to know my tax dollars fund that kind of crap.

As of this moment, I'm planning to vote yes, but it's a very complicated issue with a lot of unknowns. I tend to agree with your points, especially #3. I like the idea of trying something different because the current system is obviously broken. I don't plan to send my kids to private school with or without vouchers, but that's only because they go to a charter school and I'm very happy with it. I like the idea of giving parents options. It may not be a perfect system, but it's a step in the right direction. I agree that education would perform much better if it were completely privatized,

I've watched most of the videos (there are several for both sides on YouTube) and read most of the websites and commentary from probably every angle, and I've noticed that those opposing vouchers have a much harder time making their case. The pro-voucher ads, websites, everything is just much more convincing. I finally found a decent site against vouchers, but the funny thing is, several of the links from that site actually helped convince me to vote FOR it.

Very insightful, Josh.
Thanks for the info. I've been interested in this topic of discussion for a while now. Although I'm not old enough to vote, I've studied this as if I were going to and I must say I was for the "No" side. After reading this article however, I have been convinced the other way. My mom is also in public education and she said in their meeting the principal (or some other higher up school official) said "do we all agree now? Is everyone voting "No" ?" This is not only illegal, it's ridiculous! It makes me sick that an administrator would try to force a group of people to vote a certain way. This made my mom want to vote Yes and after reading this post I agree. DOWN WITH THE NEA!!
