What They Teach you at Harvard Business School: My Two Years Inside the Cauldron of Capitalism is a book by Philip Delves Broughton, which I have not read, and I’m wondering if it’s worth my time. From the review I just read, it would appear that Broughton is an intelligent yet pompous, bitter, judgmental, and jealous cretin, and yet I can’t help feeling, as I read the review, that had I been through the Harvard Business School that I might share some of his disdain for those who imbibe wholeheartedly of the culture of capitalism that puts net worth before all other objectives.
What I wonder about is whether the school is really as it is painted in this review, whether the review is an accurate summary of the book, and if the second, whether or not Broughton merely sees things as he wants to see them or if he does, in fact, see things clearly.
So, have you read the book, and if so, what did you think of it and would it be worth my time to read?
