Being told this i felt extremely overwhelmed... i currently taking a few notes listening to a few calls from our lead agents and with a little online research i have came acroos alot of great phrases... they actually work! i feel confident! My son is like this too, but slowly he is learning empathy. Fake it till you make it! You're already on the right path since you recognize this about yourself and hate it. I am completely inhuman. I do not have the ability to feel empathy. I cannot connect with my fellow man, and I cannot associate myself in an empathetic manner. However I am aware of this fact, and I fake it. I am not that good at faking it. My ability to express empathy, share empathy, whatever. It was beaten out of me at a very young age and nobody was around to protect me or show me empathy. Plus I have profound AD/HD and I could never pay attention to learn empathy. My inability to experience empathy has severely impacted my life. But what can I do? I cannot force myself too feel something, or express something I have no association with. I am a monster. I would fix it all up and take him back. His nemesis were his children. They watched theirs and their mother's life dragged thru the icy cold void of their jovial, carefree father laughing all the way to the next mindless recreational pursuit or shopping spree while mum was carrying the entire load. I supported him for the best part of 20 years, even thru affairs, lies, daily extravagent self indulgence and never ending recreational pursuits, covert drinking and in laws that hated me and his children - apparently it was us freeloading off their son. He waited until his sick and weary daughter told him he was a selfish sob and she no longer cared for his threats of suicide. So he made himself the ultimate victim - took a handful of pills, went to sleep and choked on his own vomit. His insurance wont cover his two decade holiday at our expense, nor repair he gaping hole he blew in the side of our lives. Call me a fool. I am. Just don't, please don't, become another fool. Get the hell out while you can. No empathy equals no damn hope - and psycho theories aside, people who lack empathy are just too dangerous to your health, family and peace of mind to even risk one ride around their merry-go-round. Such parasites will consume everything around them, even their own children.
