A few years ago I found a radio program playing locally called the Forbes Radio Program. It was business focused and only played in Utah on weekends. The host was Gordon Deal, and I loved the program because it was entirely focused on business and the economy. It was kind of like NPR’s Marketplace show, but even more so. But then it went off the air. A little while later Gordon Deal resurfaced as the host of the Wall Street Journal This Morning radio program, which I now listen to as a podcast.
A few days ago Gordon Deal was mentioning that he signed up for Twitter, and that he had somewhat randomly picked Suze Orman as someone he was going to compete against in terms of the numbers of followers he had. Seeing as I like Gordon as a host, I dutifully went and signed up to follow his Twitter posts, but noticed that he was still using one of the default backgrounds and color schemes that Twitter provides. Having recently overhauled my own Twitter page design I knew the ropes (not that it’s complicated, but I suppose it could be for some people) and decided to create a theme for Gordon. I created it, and now my design is Gordon Deal’s theme on Twitter and Gordon was kind enough to mention me on the show today. If you subscribe to the Podcast and download the show for 4/16/09 you can hear it at 26:35. Anyway, kind of fun. And he even pronounced my last name correctly. Thanks Gordon!
