No Need for HTML Tags in Comments

Posted March 21, 2007 under Miscellaneous

Just a small matter of business here. When you post comments on this blog there is no need to include HTML code for line breaks. MovableType puts those in automatically, and therefore if you put in HTML code your comment will be spaced out twice as much as you intended. MovableType also automatically adds the href tag to links and the mailto to email addresses. If you want to italicize something then you do need to use HTML code, or if you want to include an image in your comment, but otherwise no HTML is needed. So please stop including your own HTML line break code because I'm tired of having to clean it up.

In the future, if you include HTML line breaks I will still publish your comment, and I will still clean it up, but I will develop an ever increasing negative opinion of your character and intelligence.

Comments: There is no need to include HTML tags in your comments. Line breaks are translated to paragraph tags and URLs are automatically linked. All comments are reviewed by a human being prior to being published to filter out sailor language, uninteresting comments, and spam.
