Request for Input - Virtual Office Phone Systems

Posted April 27, 2007 under Miscellaneous

Need some advice here...does anyone know of a phone system that works like a PBX system but can be plugged into an Internet connection? Yes, I know about Alianza, but they don't deal with small companies any more. If you've used something or know of something I'd appreciate your input.

Right now we're using an IP phone system that runs on Asterisk, but in order to have handsets outside our office that are connected into the system we have to set up a VPN. I just want something that will run over the Internet so my people can be more mobile yet connected.

I don't know if Jive Communications has what you're looking for, but they're local and have a pretty cool VOIP system. getjive.com is the website.

Not sure how virtual you want to be so check out two solutions: Avaya phone systems where you can integrate VOIP and PBX if you want. They have a nice new system that is affordable for small businesses. Another great service is www.gotvmail.com.

I just signed up for RingCentral today and really like it so far. It was recommended to me by a few others.
