There’s the Great Wall of China, but there are bigger walls that do more to hold us back from achieving our goals and those are the walls we create in our own minds. You know how it works. You’re exposed to new information, and you get this feeling in your head that says “This is a little bit weird…” or “I’m not sure about this…” or “I hope this isn’t leading up to a presentation on how I need to get in on the bottom floor of the latest MLM.”
So you might throw up some walls in your mind when I tell you I just went through a immersive training program that has changed my life. No, it’s not MLM, a cult, a fraternal organization, or anything like unto it. There’s no membership, you just go through three courses and you’re done. And no, I don’t make any money or get any other material benefit if I recruit you. What I do get is the opportunity to see someone else get the same benefits I’ve experienced. And what are those benefits? How about more money? “But you said this wasn’t MLM!!!” It isn’t. But I’m making more money because of this training. No, not because I’m selling anything I didn’t sell before, but because the training has helped me figure out how to cut costs in my business, grow revenue, motivate my employees better, and be more productive. The training paid for itself within the first month, and I’m 100% positive will pay for itself many times over during the next year.
It’s not an easy training program. The first course is two half days and two full days all in a row (Wed-Sat). If you’re going to make big changes they aren’t going to happen because of a 3-hour seminar. This program immerses you in an environment where you can forget about work and concentrate on what you’re learning.
At $1,800 It’s not exactly inexpensive either, although compared to many other training programs it’s not that expensive either.
But it is most definitely worth it. And other than the benefits I’m seeing in my business because of it there have been lots of personal benefits as well.
I could just tell you what the program is and leave it up to you to explore further, but it took a friend telling me about it for a month before I was willing to seriously consider it. So here’s an offer for you. If you’re curious, I’ll take you out to lunch and tell you more about it. I won’t give you the hard sell, I’ll just tell you what it’s like, what I’ve gotten out of it, and I can give you details about the schedule, costs, and how to sign up.
I believe anyone could benefit from this course, but as I see how it has been a positive influence on my business I would especially say that if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, sales manager, or salesperson, you will see a huge effect on your professional pursuits if you go through this program. I already have, and I’m not even done with the training yet.
But if this all sounds cheesy and strange, go ahead and throw up those walls and stay where you’re at. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you’re interested in shaking things up and making a shift in your life, this program will do it.

What’s the jist of the program, Josh? Time managment or something. Might be nice to have a little milk before the meat, sabe?
Anyways, I’m always down for a stake.
There’s no milk in this program, it’s all meat. But here’s just a tiny taste of one aspect of the program–A lot of what the program is about is getting you out of your comfort zone and the “processes” they put you through facilitate that. Now, you don’t have to confess your sins or do anything that violates your moral standards, but if you’re afraid of public speaking you’ll get over that. If you’re afraid to call people out when they’re not being straight with you you’ll get over that too. If you find yourself second-guessing what you do because of what other people might think, even though you know you’re doing what’s right, once you go through the training you won’t care what people think about you. It’s not a flippant “Who care what you think, man!” type of thing, it’s just that you’ll figure out what needs to be done, and then you’ll do it, and you won’t be ashamed about it. For example, I’m leasing out my office. That’s something I resisted doing for a long time because I didn’t want to face the shame of closing it down and appearing to have failed in my business pursuits. I thought of all the people who would see the sign come down and say “MWI’s going out of business! I saw the sign come down off the building!” Now, I looked at the situation and how much I was spending, decided it wasn’t wise to continue spending the money on office space I wasn’t fully utilizing, and I’m getting rid of it, and what other people think about that is a minor consideration for me and there’s no shame in it for me. I just don’t feel it. It really is just business for me and no longer personal. That’s one example of a result I’ve gained because of this training.
I’m impressed. I’ve been looking for ways to grow my freelance business but keep telling myself, “You’ll never grow ’till you upgrade your software; upgrade your hardware; get better business cards; learn to stop drooling.”
While I’m sure some of it is valid and should be seriously considered, I’m working on not letting it become excuses for poor performance.
Josh, you’ve piqued my curiosity.
Those things are what we call “mechanics” or the “how” in how we get things done. More important is our intention, our commitment, or the “why.” You may have heard the saying “He who has a ‘why’ can deal with any ‘how.’” Or you may have heard that “You can do anything you want to if you want it badly enough.” Of course there are things that are impossible, but I know that three months ago I was convinced some things were impossible which I have now accomplished. It’s not that anything happened to make it easier, I just got committed and did it instead of finding excuses why not to. The training helped me understand that my problem wasn’t that I didn’t know how to do something, but that I wasn’t committed enough to making it happen. When you’re committed you get creative and find ways to get things done, and the training helps you figure out how to get committed and intentional about things.
I’d suggest reading the 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss.
Along similar lines to what you’re talking about, I thought the book was great.
