Boston Search Engine Optimization

Posted January 1, 2008 under Search Engine Optimization

This post is purely an experiment in search engine optimization. Yes, I've talked about moving my business to Boston before, but it's starting to get more and more serious and I think we might actually make it this year. And if'n I do, that means optimizing my SEO firm's site for a new group of geographically related keywords centered around the keyword "boston".

According to the Google Keyword Tool these are going to be the hot keywords for MWI:

web design boston ma
boston web design firm
search engine marketing boston
boston website design
boston web design company
boston internet marketing
boston web site design
boston search engine optimization
boston interactive marketing
boston web design
boston seo

So the question is, once I make the move, how quickly can I get MWI's site ranking for these keywords? The second question will be how not to lose the rankings MWI has in Utah, since I plan on continuing to do business here.

Speaking of which, one of the ideas I'm mulling is to bring on an SEO professional here in Utah who can manage things. I have some ideas regarding compensation I believe might qualify as "interesting," at least. If you're interested, contact me.

Not in the top 100 yet. You'll get there soon though.

We should do lunch. It's been a while, and I'd like to catch up.

That was four hours ago. This post is now at #31 for "boston search engine optimization" and #42 for "boston seo". Not too shabby for the first 12 hours or so.

You came in #8 when I searched "Boston design blog" (minus the quotation marks). Good use of SEO.
