SEO Survey Results

Posted October 16, 2006 under Search Engine Optimization

A few weeks ago I posted a link to a survey about search engine optimization with the incentive of one of those who filled out the survey being able to win an iPod Clip Shuffle.

And the winner is Joel H. There's probably only one of you Joel, so I think you know who you are. Contact me Joel, unless you prefer I give the prize to someone else.

If you would like to know more about the survey results, continue reading.

First of all, if you're curious as to how I chose the winner, there were 120 people who submitted their email addresses, so I put them in a spreadsheet, and used a web-based random number generator to pick a number with the lowest possible value being 1 and the highest possible value being 120 (yes, if you were 1 or 120 you were included). It chose 57, which was Joel. The funny part is that I chose the wrong column of email addresses the first time and it chose 103, which was Wendell, but then I realized my error and had to redo it. So close Wendell, so close.

Now, here are the results. The two links below are spreadsheets, one with full, detailed results (sans any personal information, although if there is any in the essay answers I wouldn't have caught it), as well as summary results. The HTML displayed below shows the summary results.

This is very interesting. Are these surveys something you plan to continue? You could survey for a list of topics to be surveyed.

I feel robbed. I think you should definitely give me an Ipod too. I want to file an official appeal. Who do I contact first? Josh or the state supreme court of Florida? I anxiously await the you response as to when I will receive the Ipod.
