How to Add Your Blog Feed to Facebook

Ever since I figured out how to do this I’ve had a mountain of people asking me how, so here it is–how to add your blog feed to your Facebook profile, so that every time you publish a post on your blog, it will show up as a posted item on your Facebook Wall, and then you won’t have to manually publish your blog posts as posted items.

1. Go to your Profile.

2. Click on the arrow to the right of those tabs.

3. Click on the RSS icon where it says “import”.

4. Paste the URL of your blog feed (not the URL of your blog–this won’t work). I’ve already done this so my screen below shows how to update the feed, although I believe when I first set it up it all looked pretty much the same.

Note: What if you have 10 blogs and you want to import multiple blog feeds into Facebook? Well, it’s a little tricky. Unfortunately Facebook doesn’t provide the ability to publish multiple feeds by itself, but you can work around it. You’ll need to aggregate all your blog feeds into a single feed and then paste the url of that feed just as you did above. I used Google Reader to do it, but someone else might know of a better way to do it. If you do, feel free to post here.

Thanks for the great tip – I didn’t realise you could do that!

I might have to make a fb account for my site now – thing is, it would be hard to do something like that without appearing spammy and I wouldn’t want to promote my site on my own account.
    Hmmm…

and then you can set up your fb fan page to auto feed twitter for selected posting types. 1 update to your site, 3 sites updated. pretty sweet
