Then clean up residual files while running in safe-mode. Another thing to verify is that you disable anti-virus programs while trying to install. You probably know that I am a Mac guy. With that being said, Windows 7 is the business. It's so good, that I honestly toy (though probably won't) with going back. And... it's got a free release candidate out right now. So, load up some vmware, and install a Windows 7 machine.
