MWI Launches Official Company Blog

For those who have asked whether DonLoper.com is the MWI blog or why I don’t just turn it into the official MWI blog, my response has been that I post about a lot of things on DonLoper.com, and much of it has virtually nothing to do with MWI other than a lot of my experiences and thoughts are prompted by experiences I’ve had at MWI. I’ve long planned on launching an official MWI blog, and that day has finally come. I introduce to you WeLoveBlue.com, the official MWI company blog.

What’s in the name? Well, I like the color blue. Most boys do. Most web designers do. IBM does. Most of the planet is blue. Let’s not get politics involved though, it has nothing to do with that. Who decides on those colors anyway? I hope in ‘08 they come up with a new color scheme so that we can hear Wolf Blitzer saying something like “The fuschia states are ahead, but we’ve been seeing signs of a recovery in the burnt umber states during the last hour…”

That’s all there is to it. I like blue, the domain was available, and I liked it.

The MWI blog will focus on things that are more directly relevant to MWI. I may repurpose content from Don Loper here and there, but mostly we’ll be talking about things that are happening at MWI. For those of you who remember the MWI email newsletters this blog may or may not replace them, I haven’t decided yet.

Yes, the design looks somewhat similar to the MWI site. That’s on purpose. The brand continues over to the blog but is a subset of the site itself and is a bit more blue. When I first designed it there wasn’t any blue on it, but then I figured with that name we better put a blue background in there otherwise it might look like were lying and the color blue might get suspicious or offended.
