Connect Magazine Launches Blog

Connect Magazine has launched a blog at ConnectBlogs.com.

At the moment of this post it’s just barely getting started, so there aren’t a lot of authors on it yet, but I would look for it to have quite a few within the next month. Chris Knudsen already has his blog being syndicated throught the Connect blog. I thought of just syndicating the content from Don Loper there, but I’d like to try and write unique content for it, plus there is the issue of having duplicate content which could potentially hurt my blog’s rankings and I don’t want to mess with that.

I’m a big supporter of Connect. MWI built their magazine’s website and I’ve known Arkin, Colin, and Kevin for about five years or more, since they were the guys running Digital iQ magazine. They’re a fine group of people over there and the magazine is definitely the highest quality business publication in Utah.

If you’ve got the means and the motivation, I’d encourage you to link liberally to Connect’s magazine website as well as the blog so that they both get ranked higher in the search engines. And of course subscribe to the feed on the blog.

So, right now, ConnectBlogs is mostly an aggregator of other blog’s content? Will it be pursuing exclusive postings or will that be left up to the authors (like yourself)?

It appears for now that it will be up to the author to syndicate, post unique content, or both. So far there are only two authors posting, myself and Chris Knudsen, so we’ll see what the others choose to do. I think Connect is wanting to have a few authors for each category, which would mean upwards of 30-40 authors total.
