For the third time MWI’s website has been blatantly ripped off/copied, this time just months after the last time. This time the culprit is some European or Icelandic company called Quick MB. If anybody knows what language that is let me know. At least this time the perpetrator had the dignity to be from some obscure former-USSR country where if you don’t exactly expect this kind of behavior at least you aren’t surprised by it.

Josh, did you design the current MWI site? Pretty flattering to have it ripped off so many times. How about a little site bg? (year the current version was born, etc)

The website was designed and built by Chris Taylor and Kyle Follett about a year and a half ago. It has undergone some changes to content and navigation, and the Flash portion on the homepage has been update once and the portfolio of work has been updated once.
The portfolio is probably due for another update as well as the homepage Flash. We’ll get to that as soon…yeah, right.
I’ve considered doing a major overhaul of the site design but it seems to be pretty popular, so we might keep it for another year or more and only do updates to it to keep the content fresh. There’s just so much other work that takes precedence and as long as it ain’t broke it probably won’t get fixed.
If you’re going to copy, the least you can do is copy well. Boy did they miss the mark.

Interesting. Yes, that M4 Media Group ripoff isn’t much better than the Quick MB one, and no, I hadn’t seen that particular ripoff yet. I didn’t realize how widespread ripping off the MWI website had grown. Maybe I can petition Congress to enact specific legislation for MWI’s protection.
Or just make an MWI Rip-off Hall of Fame and see how many people want to be inducted. They could be awarded public recognition on your website and sent a congratulatory letter covered in a mysterious white powdery substance.

Iceland is in Europe. A company can’t be European or Icelandic, it just can’t be both ways. English is your native tongue, son–what the ____? “Moist moisture”?
Quick MB is from Ljubljana, it says so on their website. Ljubljana is the capital of the Republic of Slovenia, former Yugoslavia. So the language of the website is slovenski. Everybody speaks English in Slovenia. And the country itself is as beautiful as Switzerland. So why don’t you email the guys and ask them about your predicament
yourself.
Most important thing (and the main reason behind my email) — there is no such thing as an obscure former-USSR country, you got that, you stupid Podunk Utah boy? USSR used to cover 1/6 of the ____ing useful surface of the Earth. Think about it, Podunk boy. Does that sink in? Some podunk company, from around your podunk area designed dentsu.com some time ago, SBIcompany, or some ____ like that. I think they bought up Razorfish right after that. So who knows may be you will become a super designer one day. Don’t count on that much… your stuff is at best mediocre.

Well, he is right about one thing, Iceland is indeed in Europe. “Iceland is Europe’s westernmost country, the second largest island in the North-Atlantic ocean, and a little over 3 hours flight from London, Paris or Copenhagen.” Well, you learn something new every day.
