Agreed. In business sometimes sales people get so trapped into ‘making the deal” that they forget that sometimes, your product and the clients needs just don’t match. Unfortunately, in many cases business doesn’t allow for that case. “Remember a good salesman can sell refrigerators to eskimos.”

I find myself passing up work that, sure I could do, but I am just not a good fit for. No worries. It needs to be ok to pass when it isn’t a match.

Or at least points them in the right direction if they can’t do the work themselves. Just as not every client can afford to pay $10K for a website, not every firm can make money building a website for less than $10K.

The point is, you are right. A good firm/designer sells a product that fits the clients budget AND needs even if that means a template. Not every company needs a 10k website.
